Artscape Wychwood Barns
Artscape Wychwood Barns is a former transit facility that has been transformed into a hub for arts, community and the environment in midtown Toronto. Since opening in 2008, the Barns have become one of the city’s most unique event venues. Its soaring ceilings, abundant natural light and architectural detailing create a dramatic backdrop for all kinds of events. The Barns are home to artist studios, not-for-profit organizations, indoor and outdoor growing areas, a gallery, a popular farmers’ market and exciting community events. It was one of the first heritage buildings in Canada to be certified LEED Gold.
Artscape Wychwood Barns operates as a social enterprise. Revenues from venue rentals support the building’s cultural programming and services.

EVENT SPACES
Covered Street Barn
The Covered Street Barn is our largest and most versatile event space. It features a full-length skylight that fills the room with dazzling natural light. Glass garage-style doors on each side of the room open onto public parkland. For more intimate events, the Covered Street Barn can be partitioned into smaller spaces with fabric sheers. Artists studios open onto the space. Artists have 24 hour access.
The Stop’s Courtyard & Classroom
The Stop’s open-air Courtyard features an outdoor patio, garden and a wood-burning pizza oven. Inside, their Classroom overlooks a greenhouse. Both spaces are available for rental as a spillover space for events inside the Covered Street Barn or independently.
Christie Open-Air Courtyard
Located on the west side of the facility, the Christie Open Air Courtyard can be used as an extension of the Covered Street Barn, increasing the capacity of your event.
The Peter MacKendrick Community Gallery
The Peter MacKendrick Community Gallery boasts 14 foot ceilings, arched windows, sealed concrete flooring and adjustable track lighting. The Gallery is a customizable space available for exhibitions, photo shoots, small meetings and events or as a spillover space for events inside the Covered Street Barn. The Gallery faces Wychwood Avenue on the northeastcorner of the facility.
